Mart and Tristan's English -aged 2 and 4.
Marta and Tristan have developed their English in very different ways. Marta uses lots of English words when she is speaking - especially to me - but she insists on combining English nouns with Spanish grammar. For example, she said the other day "Sabías que [Did you know] a long time ago the people eran como [were like] los monkeys?"
Tristan is different. Tristan doesn't speak full sentences yet (he's 2 years and two months) but he stricly uses Spanish words with his mother and English words with his father. One day, pointing at a toy bull in a shop window, he said to me "Daddy, look, bull" and then shouted to his mother, "Mamá, mira, toro" [which means the same].
